Our Story

A Little bit about us!

We are located just outside a little town called Staffa Ontario. Here we farm with our 4 children, Tyce 20, Kyen 18, Ryer 16, and Nyel 14. We started to have a few beefs in our 3-acre pasture as a little side hobby about 10 years ago that would allow us to put farm-raised meat on our table to feed the 4 growing humans we had created. We really wanted to know where our food was coming from and how it was raised.

After having a few steers, we decided we wanted to raise some of our own calves as well. So we purchased 8 Simmental crosses and rented a barn down the road from our neighbor. Fast forward 10 years, 2 farm moves, and a whole herd of speckle park later. Every move we made, the cows followed. Nothing beats sitting on your front porch and watching the cows with their calves in the pasture on a warm summer’s day. That’s therapy right there!

Barn Tour

We recently finished our beef barn. It was a year long project that seemed to have delay after delay. The herd was able to move in April 2024.

With the help of our 2 sons and our father, we were able to do a lot of the site prep, electrical and plumbing ourselves. It really is amazing what can be accomplished when you work together as a family. We are proud of the boys.  We definitely know that Kyen will not be an electrician! He completed what needed to be done but later informed us that he will not be doing anymore electrical for awhile. At least he has the knowledge to take with him wherever he goes in the future.

The barn has 4 large pens and 2 bays at the end for straw or hay storage. We have a lovely office space which is currently set up as our business office as well. There is a huge area that is used to wash and clip our show cows. It is a pretty awesome set up compared to the old bank barn we were using last winter. We are so blessed to be able to have completed this project. We are excited to add more cows to the herd and grow our quality genetics.

Our family loves to visit other producers around the country whenever we are able to. We also love having people stop in for a visit, a coffee, a beer or a burger! We have had people from Australia, New Zealand and all over Canada stop in for a tour.

If you are ever in the area stop in for a chat!
